However, as recently as March of 2021 CD keys included in retail copies of The Godfather II could be redeemed through the Origin platform to download a digital copy of the game. Furthermore, neither of the Godfather titles were released for sale on Origin. While Electronic Arts did remove most of its titles from Steam in favor of their own Origin platform, these delistings largely happened in 2012, years prior to the Godfather delistings. The cause for the delisting appears to be related to licensing of the Godfather property from Paramount Pictures.
